The people behind Lookout Tavern, 9th St & Greenway in North Phoenix.
Kevin Stout grew up in the Northwest Valley and graduated from Deer Valley High School. Before Lookout, he was a serial entrepreneur, building successful online businesses in marketing, ecommerce, web services and even travel.
In 2017 he took on the Phoenix bar and restaurant scene with a brand-new concept: Lookout Tavern. Kevin, his wife Erica and managing partner Todd Ahlf took it from an idea to open doors in under eight months, including a full remodel of the space at 9th Street & Greenway Parkway in the Moon Valley area of North Phoenix.
The neighborhood noticed. In 2019, Phoenix readers nominated Lookout in 11 Best of Phoenix categories. When COVID hit, Lookout switched to takeout to keep its staff working, and in late 2022 it added weekend brunch.
Today Lookout Tavern is North Phoenix’s neighborhood sports bar and restaurant: smash burgers and wings, 50+ HDTVs and 3 LED walls, free game nights Monday to Thursday and weekend brunch. It’s still family owned by Kevin and Erica, with a long list of regulars and staff who have been there since the start.
